emergency egress windows
Under typical conditions, the KI9-1-1 functions the same as an ordinary single hung window but when the emergency release is thrown, the entire fixed AND operable area swings outward to become an egress opening. This opening meets the NFPA (National Fire Protection Agency) prescribed requirement for a minimum net clear opening of 5.7 square ft. - The area necessary for a person to exit the building and for a fully outfitted fireman to enter the building in a rescue situation.
As shown to the left, a 25" x 45.5" KI9-1-1 window will achieve the minimum 5.7 square ft. needed for emergency egress. By comparison, a typical single hung of the same size will acheive only 2.5 square ft. of that requirement.
Features Include:
Emergency Egress Windows Aluminum Egress Windows
Dual Color Capability
Structural Thermal Strut for Enhanced Thermal Performance
Can have a screen and still comply with egress codes
